Chaturdasha Devata Temple is a Hindu temple in old Agartala. It was built in honour of fourteen deities, who are together called the Chaturdasha Devata. The Chaturdasha Devata is a family deity of the Maharajas of Tripura. The temple's dome is the Tripuri dome, patterned after the roofs of village huts in Tripura. Above it sits a stupa-like structure that shows traces of Buddhist influence.
Maharaja Krishna Manikya built the complex and the temple in 1760, after moving his capital from Udaipur, about 60 km away. In May 2023 the Tripura government began refurbishing the temple and the capital complex around it. The work was meant to beautify the whole area and draw more visitors to the old capital.
Since Tripura joined the Indian Union in 1949, the state government has maintained the temple. Its care has stayed with the state ever since, and the temple remains a place of worship for devotees across the region.
