Ganagapur is a holy place of Dattatreya, and the village has a temple to him. It lies in the Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district, Karnataka. The district site also calls it Shree Kshetra Ganagapura. Its Sangam Kshetra is the meeting point of the Bhima and Amarja rivers. The district site says the water there, especially at the confluence, is considered extremely holy. The sacred area also includes the Audumbar tree and Ash Hill.
The place is linked to Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swami, the second incarnation of Dattatreya. Legend says he performed anushtan, a set of devotional practices, below the Audumbar tree here.
