Why devotees come here
ISKCON Temple Bangalore stands on Chord Road in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, and is dedicated to Radha Krishna. It is one of the largest Krishna-Hindu temples in the world, and the ninth President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma, opened it in May 1997.
The temple is dedicated to Radha Krishna, and its complex has six shrines. Visitors are offered free Krishna prasadam during darshan hours, and lunch prasadam is served every day.
Shankar Dayal Sharma, the ninth President of India, inaugurated the temple in May 1997. Two gold-plated features stand out. A flag post stands 17 m (56 ft) high, and a gold-plated kalash shikhara, the crowning spire, rises 8.5 m (28 ft). Lifts and wheelchairs are available for disabled and elderly visitors.
Deepotsava, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated every year in Kartika, which falls in October and November. Krishna Janmashtami is marked with a children's competition at the temple. Photography is not allowed inside, but pictures can be taken outside the temple.
