Why devotees come here
Kattuveera Anjaneya Temple is at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, about 1 km from the city. The main deity is Anjaneya, another name for Hanuman. Devotees believe a sincere wish made here with full devotion comes true within 3 months.
The temple is said to be about 2500 years old. Devotees believe the Anjaneya here grants a sincere wish made with full devotion, within 3 months. Once the wish comes true, the devotee is expected to return to the temple and claim the saffron bag.
Devotees walk 11 rounds of the temple while chanting a mantra. At the counter, a saffron bag holding a coconut and betel leaves is given for the offering. The bag is kept with the bags of other devotees for 3 months.
The idol in the sanctum is carved out of a hill. A natural rock formation shaped like Nandi is also found at the temple, and it is hard to miss. It is a natural rock formation, not a carved one.
