The temple is perched on a 400-foot hill in Markacho block, on the Koderma-Giridih highway. There is also a large cave with carvings of four forms of Devi Durga. A staircase has been built up the slope, but the steep ground makes the walk hard.
The passage into the cave is very narrow, so it is difficult to enter. The temple lies about 33 km from Koderma city, about 55 minutes by road. Devotees offer rice and mishri to the deity as prasad. Large numbers of devotees come on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The use of sindoor is prohibited at the temple.
