Ram Mandeer at Rampayali is a historic, scenic and religious Shri Ram temple in Madhya Pradesh. It is located about 25 kilometers from Balaghat district. It is believed that Shri Ram visited this town during his 14 years of exile.
Rampayali is listed as a historic, scenic and religious place. It is known for its ancient heritage and deep faith. The temple is mentioned in ancient Indian history and is regarded as a very sacred site. The place was first called Ram Padavali, a name that later became Ram Payali.
Local belief says the Shri Ram temple was built about 600 years ago by the Maratha Bhosale rulers of Bhandara district. The temple was scientifically designed as a fort on the riverbank. Its main idols are of Shri Ram Balaji and Sita. Shri Ram is shown in forest-dweller form, with matted locks on his head. Every year a seven-day fair is held here on the full moon day of the Kartik month. The fair is held on the banks of the Chandan River, and thousands of devotees from distant places attend it.
