Ranjit Hanuman Temple is named among the most revered temples of Indore, alongside the centuries old Khajrana Ganesh temple. A Times of India report describes it as a 150-year-old temple. Indore is the largest city in Madhya Pradesh and the administrative headquarters of Indore district and division, and it is served by air, rail and road.
Each year the temple holds the Ranjit Mahotsav, a festival lasting three days. It opens on the first day with 51,000 lamps lit. The festival culminates on 12 December with a grand parbhat pheri, a morning procession in which the deity is taken out in a gold chariot.
A news report says the temple accepts shares of listed companies from devotees, instead of cash or gold.
