Why devotees come here
Salkanpur Vijayasan Devi Temple stands in the Narmada area of Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh. The shrine is dedicated to Vindhyavasini Beejasan Devi, and it sits at about 800 feet, with a ropeway that takes devotees up to it.
The temple is a sacred siddhpeeth, a revered shrine, of Vindhyavasini Beejasan Devi. The Sehore district tourism page describes her as an incarnation of Durga. The district tourism pages also call the temple the Vindhyawasini Mata Temple, Salkanpur. Times of India reports on it as the famous Vijayasan Devi temple at Salkanpur. Every year during Navratri, large numbers of devotees come for darshan.
A district site headline credits the Banjara community with setting up the Vijayasan Devidham about 300 years ago. The district lists the temple under Rehti.
The Sehore tourism page puts Salkanpur about 100 km from Sehore city, at a height of about 800 feet. Devotees can reach the temple by ropeway, which the district says is arranged for them.
