Why devotees come here
Shiv Mandir Tuti Jharna is a Shiva temple in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, in Sandi, Bongabar. The Shivling sits below a white statue of Mother Ganga, and devotees believe water flows from the statue onto the lingam without stopping.
Devotees believe the water over the Shivling never stops. It keeps flowing even when nearby rivers run dry, and its source has not been explained. A white statue of Mother Ganga stands above the lingam, and the water flows from it like a river, cascading onto the Shivling. This is why thousands of devotees visit, believing that Bholenath fulfils their wishes here.
The temple was discovered in 1925, under British rule, while British engineers were building a railway line through the Ramgarh district. The temple dome was found buried beneath the soil during excavation work. Full excavation then revealed the ancient structure, and the Shivling was found inside, with the Ganga statue just above it. The Jharkhand tourism site also ties the discovery to that year.
Jalabhishek of Bholenath takes place in the temple. The place is known as Tuti Jharna in the district listing and as Tutti Jharna on the state tourism site. Both names point to this same shrine in Sandi, Bongabar, near Ramgarh city. The Jharkhand tourism site also describes the same flow, with water falling from the idol onto the Shivling.
