Why devotees come here
Vashisht is a village about 3 km from Manali, across the River Beas, in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is famous for its sulphurous hot water springs, and three temples to Vashisht, Shiva and Rama stand right beside them.
Vashisht village is sanctified by three main temples, and it is best known for its sulphurous hot water springs. Apart from the temples, the hot water spring bath is what makes this small village worth a visit. The village also keeps a temple to sage Vashisht, a figure who finds mention in the Rig Veda, the oldest religious book of the Hindus.
The three temples are dedicated to Vashisht, Shiva and Rama. They are built just next to the springs. The springs have separate baths for men and women.
Jogini Falls lies to the north of the village and marks its upper boundary. A short trek from the village leads to the falls. A small shrine to Jogini Mata stands at its base. The falls and the temple are commonly visited together with the hot springs, as part of a local pilgrimage and tourist route.
