Why devotees come here
Jhoteswar Temple is a shrine of Raj-Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari in Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The district government lists the place as natural, scenic and religious. A seven-day mela is held here on Basant Panchami.
The main shrine at Jhoteswar is dedicated to Raj-Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari. The Narsinghpur district government website lists the place under natural and scenic beauty, and under religious sites. The district page gives the name Paramhansi Ganga Ashram alongside Jhoteswar. It says Jagadguru Shankaracharya and Dwarkadhish Pithadhishwar Saraswati Maharaj meditated and worshipped here.
Two Prime Ministers and one President of India have visited Jhoteswar. The kalash on top of the temple was installed by Indira Gandhi, when she was Prime Minister of India.
The district page describes more than one shrine on the site. Beside the main temple it names the Lodheshwar temple, a Hanuman tekari, a rock and a Shivling. The temple is on the Mumbai to Howrah Central railway track route, according to the same page.
