Muktidham is a marble temple complex honouring many Hindu gods. Its main feature is a set of replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Each replica was built to the dimensions of the original deity and sanctified at that deity's pilgrimage centre.
The temple was founded in 1971 and is run privately through a trust. A local industrialist, the late J.D. Chauhan-Bytco, paid for it through a generous donation.
The temple is built of marble from Makrana in Rajasthan, and Rajasthani sculptors worked on it. The Krishna temple in the complex has walls painted with scenes from Krishna's life and the Mahabharata. Eighteen chapters of the Geeta are written on the walls, a feature described as unique to this temple. The complex also has idols of Vishnu, Laxman, Sita, Hanuman, Durga and Ganesha.
