Pachetti Mata Temple is a shrine to Mata Rani, whom devotees call Mataji. It stands in the forest about 1 km east of Pacheti village, in Agar Malwa district. Agar, the district headquarters, is 22 km away.
Legend says ancient sculptures were found in the dense forest. Slowly, people began to come to this spot. Over time, more and more devotees came here to worship. Devotees break a coconut at the shrine as an offering. It is believed this brings a blessing for a wish.
A grand temple was built here later. Today it still stands in the jungle, surrounded by forest. The temple can be reached by cab or bus from Ujjain (98 km), Indore (156 km) or Kota (225 km).
