Why devotees come here
Shrinathji ka bada temple stands on the banks of the Nevaj river in Rajgarh town, the administrative headquarters of Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh. Its idol of Shrinathji was installed in 1911. At 111 feet, it is the tallest shikhara temple in the state.
King Bainsinghji established the idol of Shrinathji at this temple in 1911. The installation took place on the tenth day of the Jyestha month of that year, which is Ganga Dussehra.
Building work started in 1887, when King Balbahadur Singh began construction, and it took 24 years to complete. Both kings are named in the temple's history. The result is the tallest shikhara temple in the state, at 111 feet, on the banks of the Nevaj river. Every year, Ganga Dasami is celebrated as the temple's Foundation Day, or Patotsav.
The temple stands on the bank of the Nevaj river. When the water level rises in the rainy season, the garbha griha, or inner sanctum, is submerged. In the evening, hundreds of pigeons that drink from the river circle the summit as a flock.
