Sivadol is a group of three Hindu temples, and dol means temple in Assamese. The group also has a museum. The main shrine is dedicated to Shiva, and the Shiva linga inside the sanctum is deified in a reverse setting.
The temples were built in 1734 by Bar Raja Ambika, queen of the Ahom king Swargadeo Siva Singha, who ruled from 1714 to 1744. The central tower follows the Shikhara style, more specifically Ahom temple architecture. It is said to be the tallest Shiva temple tower in India.
The outer walls carry carvings of Devi Durga. The group also includes Vishnudol, the temple of Vishnu, and Devidol, the temple of Durga. Each year, both the Dol Yatra and the Rath Yatra are held at Vishnu Dol.
