Why devotees come here
Srungara Vallabha Swamy Temple stands in Chadalada Tirupati village, also called Tholi Tirupati, in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. It is dedicated to Vishnu in the form of Srungara Vallabha Swami.
The temple is dedicated to Srungara Vallabha Swami, a manifestation of Venkateswara, who is Vishnu. The presiding deity is shown in a smiling posture. The legend of the temple is linked to the story of Dhruva, found in the Vishnu Purana and Bhagavata Purana. Tholi Tirupati is believed to be the place where Vishnu blessed Dhruva.
The temple was built before the 12th century. Emperor Krishnadevaraya, during a visit, installed a copper idol of Bhudevi. In 1956 the temple came under the Endowments Department, to ensure its preservation and continued religious significance.
The temple follows the traditional Dravidian style. The sanctum holds the main deity standing, with his consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi. The Ranga Mandapa has eight carved pillars, and the Mukha Mandapa has sixteen pillars that hold around 13 inscriptions. During the Brahmotsavams and Rathotsavams, the deities are taken in procession around the village.
